I'm sure tips differ from bar to bar. I'm sure you get way more tips in an upscale bar in Manhattan than you would in some dingy little tavern in the middle of nowhere. I think it's all about location.

I think that there's definitely more to it than what he's saying. I for one hate going to bars and finding out that the bartender doesn't know how to make a whole bunch of simple drinks. If I'm a bar tender, I'm going to try to be the best damn bartender there ever was. Aside from the quirky tricks, I'm going to try and remember a whole bunch of drinks as well as keep a handy well-organized binder with me that has a ton of drink recipes. I want to give the customers what they want.
